Sterling silver granulation ring set with a central blue Topaz and two smooth Peridot gemstones
This ring was a learning project a couple of years ago that went wrong several times. It looks good on the finger but on close inspection its flaws mean I can only sell it as a seconds piece. I have considered cutting the stones out and repurposing but thought I would offer it up for sale first.
It has a sparkling blue Topaz stone in the centre, surrounded by tiny silver granulation and shouldered with two peridot cabachon stones.
The flaws are that while soldering on the granules and the stone settings the ring band solder has reflowed leaving pits in the ring band. I didn't notice this until after the first stone was set and so couldn't re solder it to correct it. The solder join is secure but flawed to look at.
The textured shoulder stone settings are also not up to the standard I want my work to be.
It is a uk size O/P. The ring band is 5mm wide
